Extract from document DELSA/ELSA(2024)4/REV2 (Annex C.2) approved by the Council in November 2024 (C(2024)74).

The Working Party on Migration shall:

a) Serve as a forum for Members and relevant non-Members to exchange information on policies and practices and discuss matters related to the labour market and economic impacts of the integration of migrants into the labour market and society at large as outlined in the work programme of the Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Committee;

b) Collect, review, document, standardise and disseminate information, with the support in particular of the Continuous Reporting System on Migration (SOPEMI), on migration trends and policies as well as on integration policies, and on socio-economic integration outcomes of migrants and their children, in Members and in relevant non-Members; pursue and extend collection and publication of statistics on migration notably by gender;

c) Analyse the entire migration continuum, covering drivers and intentions, including for emigration from OECD countries. Study its long-term effect on the economy, labour markets and society of countries of origin and countries of migratory destination;

d) Assist Members requesting guidance in the development and evaluation of migration policies and

programmes that aim to support economic growth and inclusive societies and to improve integration into the labour market and society at large, which can help inform relevant international frameworks.

e) Promote the exchange of good practices and evidence-based dialogue on migration and integration issues among member states and key stakeholders, all levels;

f) Facilitate the co-ordination of the work of the Organisation related to migration, and cooperate with other International Organisations as appropriate to avoid duplication and maximize synergies;

g) Support efforts to provide sound and timely statistics on migration and integration, including through the International Forum on Migration Statistics, the UN World Data Forum, and the NETCOM network.

The Working Party will report its analyses, evaluations and conclusions to the Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Committee on a periodic basis as required.

The Mandate of the Working Party on Migration should remain in force until 31 December 2029.
